The University of Alabama School of Medicine, Division of CME contributes in several community collaborations and grant projects.  Some participants in these collaborations are recruited from the Alabama Practice-Based CME Network.  Click on the link(s) following the project description for more information.

Obesity Quality of Care
In collaboration with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, the UAB Division of CME is introducing a new initiative to assist Alabama physicians in the management of patients who are obese. The purpose of this activity is to review your charts of 10 obese patients under your current care. This will take approximately 2 hours. For this effort you will receive:
  • Recognition as a participant in "Obesity Quality of Care" (acknowledgement in a framed certificate)
  • Six AMA PRA Category 1 CME creditsTM at no cost
  • unique opportunity to reflect on population trends in your practice and in Alabama.

Developed by the Praxis Partnership, a co-operative consortium of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Vanderbilt University, and Indicia Medical Education, LLC designed to resolve the significant gap between the mental health care services that ethnic and racial minority groups are receiving and those they could be receiving. Funded by an unrestricted educational grant from Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.
